Why is The Daily Show the best show ever?
Vonnegut is one of my favorite authors, and it's great to see him on TV, even though he was a little shaky tonight. Well, he is 82, so you'd expect him to be a little rambly.
But still, he was brilliant. Here's some paraphrased quotes:
I do believe evolution is being driven by some sort of engineer. It's heading to a specific point and it has very specific pieces to get there. Like the giraffe and the clap.and
The earth's immune system is trying to get rid of us.and
I will say one nice thing about the President: he's not the dumbest man in power right now.and
I think it's good for Iraq to learn about democracy from us. We can teach them that genocide and ethnic cleansing and wars are just fine when you're starting out, then after a hundred years you have to give up your slaves, and after 150 years you have to let women vote.I love it.
If you get a chance to catch a rerun, I would highly recommend doing so.
